Step out of the ordinary for a truly spectacular musical experience from Australia’s critically acclaimed world music favourites, MZAZA featuring: Pauline Maudy, Greta Kelly, Ricardo Bona, John Robertson, Goran Gajic, and Malindi Morris.

World music favourites MZAZA have created a theatrical musical experience like no other - The Birth and Death of Stars. After successful national and international seasons, these consummate performers bring their acclaimed show to the Blue Mountains inviting audiences to leave the daily world behind to contemplate our magical place in the universe.

Inspired by history’s greatest philosophers and astronomers, join Australia’s most celebrated world music group for a theatrical musical experience that is out of this world. Blending stunning vocals in three languages with live music, animation, and collage animation, The Birth and Death of Stars is a surreal and inspirational journey into the ether from the nation’s most uniquely diverse musicians and composers.

Sitting comfortably between music and theatre, the show is brought to the stage by a powerful collaboration of creative minds featuring director Benjamin Knapton, Finnish animator Laura Matikainen, writer Pauline Maudy and design consultant Alison Ross.

Led by enchanting French vocalist Pauline Maudy, this group of outstanding musicians and songwriters from around the world will mesmerise you with inspired performances on accordion, violin, shah kaman, percussion, double-bass and guitar.

Take a step away from the everyday and contemplate our place in the universe to the sounds of some of Australia’s most uniquely diverse musicians and composers. Blending stunning vocals in three languages with live music, animation, and collage animation, The Birth and Death of Stars is a surreal and inspirational journey into the ether from the nation’s most uniquely diverse musicians and composers.
